Description
Because of the flat cap, habs will have to sign their young players to bridge deals and cheaper contracts. I don't think the habs will re-sign Danault, esp with the depth available with KK, Poehling, Suzuki, and Evans. Tatar and Armia prob get traded or leave in FA too.

Bringing Romanov, KK, Suzuki, and Poehling at RFA the same year isn't a great idea. They wil all want big contract (maybe not Poehling) at the same time. You will also have to resign Evans and Fleury that year. That would be a pretty big summergrimace

interesting line up for 2022-23. I am hearing good things about Norlinder. We are all curious about Romanov. Poehling is a complete mystery and one to follow closely. I am super curious to see what type of player he becomes. Can Caufield score at NHL level as he did in prior seasons? It's amazing how quickly the 4 C's turned over. If all four of those pan out, MTL is set for many years.

MTL has some nice pieces. I've been very critical of both Timmins and Bergevin but either they figured things out or they finally got better. The last two years have been good drafts and signings. He also keeps stocking the draft picks, which is always handy.

they've had the ability for the past 3 seasons, to stock up on high draft picks and 2nd rd picks. before that, both of them didn't have a ton of 2nd rd picks. having a good number of 2nd rd picks brings in nhlers. de la rose, romanov, lehkonen. now you have brook, olofsson, ikonen, ylonen, struble, tuch, mysak. 2nd rd picks are really important.
