You do realize buffalo has 6 RHD with NHL contracts.. the last thing they need is another bad RD.

Sure. Right now. But you're not making the trade for right now. In a scenario like this, you'd be trying to execute a rapid rebuild (2-3 years) at this year's deadline. Buffalo has 1* RHD that they have the rights to past 21-22 (Joker). And zero RHD prospects with a top 4 ceiling. You need to acquire a high end top 4 RHD prospect or reliable top 4 RHD with term for 2-3 years down the road. It's a massive gap in your system.

So in this scenario. You deal Eichel and your top 4 is set: Dahlin/Hague/Joker/Trouba. That's pretty good. You have your F core in place: Krebs/Cozens down the middle, guys like Quinn/Peterka/Tuch/Olofsson/Skinner at the wings. Add to the picks/prospects you can net for guys like Hall/Reinhart/Risto/Miller/Staal in your fire sale and you should be able to set up nicely to be a sustained contender starting around 2023. Get some lottery luck and it could be even quicker. That's the most efficient way to handle it.

Everybody wins.

But the thing is Eichel is elite, Trouba isn’t good at all.

yeah I mean that's the trade if you disregard Krebs, Hague, Tuch, Morozov, Pajuniemi and a 1st and 2nd and 3rd entirely....but obviously that'd be a dumb way to look at it so surely that can't be what you mean lol.
