Description
Basic framework with what I believe the canes would offer in a deal for Pacioretty. Buffalo deal could be to any team, but I think a second is probably enough to get a team to take Gardiner

Buffalo doesn't have the cap space to take Gardiner+they have 6 NHL D.
Alright, I see any team.

You are correct on both counts space and # of NHL defensemen.
It is refreshing to hear that assessment from a Bruins fan.
On the other hand, Jake would balance LHD with the RHD.
If Buffalo could move Miller for a pick or players on an ELC, Jake would easily be their second best LHD (and I really like Jake McCabe).

This was my thinking in trading Gardiner to Buffalo but i do also acknowledge that there may be other fits. I thought Gardiner could slot into the 2LHD where he would be a better fit instead of the canes where he has limited minutes

Just what I said. It was meant as a compliment, I am sorry that it was misunderstood.
I guess I should have said "It is refreshing to hear that assessment from a non-Sabre fan."
