Rychel, Loov, Leivo etc type player lost to expansion.

Possibly lost: Martin (doubt it), Leivo (can't see vegas taking prospects who are not really ready and unkowns).

Sutter
Leo
Brown
Leipsic
Bozak

Morgan
Carrick

Andersen

Fowler added in a 1 yr contract swap. Bozak becomes expandable after acquiring Sutter (a big impact #3C). Sosh added to deal to be conservative from a value stand point. Trading from a position of strength in this situation. By the following season I see Dermott and Nielsen being ready. We still may be looking for a #2 LHD since I moves Gardiner but I feel this is the better route.

Also worth noting LW is still not a position of strength. Do we care? Our C are very good, our D is definitely competitive and our RW are very good. Will Johnson be ready for top 6? Can we move a RW for a LW?

The are horrid trades for the Leafs. Sutter a nice third liner making too much money and Fowler who has one year left till UFA for Bozak one year till year UFA, and NHL Dman Gardiner and looks like a bargain priced regular NHLer that doesn't need draft protection Soshnikov.
Loov, Leipsic do not look like NHL players. LW not a position of strength? JVR, Hyman, Soshnikov, Komarov, Martin, Soshikov, Johnson, Lindberg ., Tishanov Yea maybe not the best right now but has possibilities of being good,
No Carrick and Brown on team. on team?
IMO the top contenders to be taken by the Vegans are Bibeau and Martin. There isn't much else that I would consider draftable unless Leivo shows well this season

Typical comments. Those LWers are underwhelming. Hyman has 1 point? Sosh is working his way back, Martin is a 4th liner, Johsnon is unproven, Lindberg and Timashov are depth players. There is no young top end talent there you can trust yet.

Carrick is not on the team as I originally had him left unprotected. I'll fix it. Brown left off by aaccident as well as I clearly protected him.

These trades are actually very good. Not sure what you are smoking...Bozak for Fowler is a good trade for us given the above situation.

Carrick and Brown were clearly accidents as I protected them. I'll fix it.

Bibeau should not be on vegas radar. Are you suggesting he will be a top G left unprotected???? There are many young goalies available as well as established NHLers. Martin is also not on their radar because he is a 4th liner.

That LW list is underwhelming. Some top talent (Johnson) but mostly are depth pieces (Timashov, Sosh, Hyman, Lindberg). Hyman has done "well" creating space, but his offense has been sub par this year. Sosh has lots to prove still. Clearly a weak point. If you want to argue that then you are delusional. None can be relied upon to be a top 6. That's an issue IMO.

OK, let's say I'm wrong and the Leafs LW is not good. In your trades, you traded one winger (Sosh) and never got a winger back I'm in return. How is that helping the LW position for the Leafs? You call me delusional, but geez your statement and trades are in for much harsher words if you can't take a some obvious analysis.

Yes, the Leafs would need Fowler if the Leafs traded Gardiner. Sure Fowler would help the Leafs this year, but he would just be another LHD behind Gardiner, Rielly (assuming Gardiner isn't traded). Bozak and Sutter is about a wash at centre, so why would the Leafs do it. Sutter is life time 35 point guy, with a worse contract. IMO Gardiner has lots more value as a player than Sutter.

From the Ducks POV, Fowler for Bozak. Ducks already have Getzalf, Kesler and Rakell at centre. Thinking a winger would be a better fit for them.

You said the Leafs LWers are unproven. YES, YES exactly that what happens when a team finishes 30th last season, probably won't make the playoffs this season.

And c'mon, I am not suggesting that Bibeau that is the best goalie in the draft. (that would be delusional), but you thinking I wrote than may be delusional. But I do believe he will be the best Leaf available with of "term" for the Vegas draft. Vegas will likely draft four goalies
Two NHL veterans...probably starters or were starters, and maybe two of the best AHL which may help them long term....Bibeau and the NJ goalie Blackwood? might be good selections. And the Vegans are going to have some players that are eligible to go back to the AHL without going through waivers.

In the draft the Vegans are not going to take the best player available on each team. If that was true they would be drafting 30 players making an average of 4m each. That 120m. So when they draft they have to build a team for this year and the near future with all the cap considerations, and the availability of UFAs.

Sutter > BOZAK. He is a totally different player and is very good at his role.

I realize Vegas won't take pure studs. But bibeau? really? lol

I did say they are unproven. My write up even says that I have flaws because I left LW weak, traded a #3/4 D and only got a 1 year replacement, etc. But the concept is to get a guy who is comfortable as a 3C who can play higher and has some term at a manageable cap hit (Gardiner is the only guy close to available that gets you him). Then I replaced him by a guy who we no longer need and is playing on the 3rd line to replace Gardiner. If we can not resign Fowler then we leave a hole. We have young guys who I trust more than our LW and C prospects in the AHL and beyond who can step in. There are also a fair amount of D hitting UFA these coming years. I prefer this method. It is dumb to sit on guys who are not playing in their correct role (Bozak).

JVR - Kadri - Marner
XXX - Auston - Nylander.

That will be a competitive top 6. Need to keep JVR or find another LW. Biggest issue is finding those guys.
