Reimer makes less than a mil of actual money and posted a .914 last year. Carolina isn't going to retain and treat him like a cap dump, it'd be more worthwhile just running with Petr and James because they have been good enough the last year for Reimer and 2 for Mrazek. They're already a contender, and goaltending isn't a major hole. Analytically, Reimer was one of the best goaltenders in hockey for the majority of the regular season. Up until the game where he, Pesce, and Mrazek all got hurt (AKA David Ayres game). Carolina's major issue is depth scoring. Only 4 players made more than 4 points, 3 of them play on the same line and one missed 1/3rd of the season because he broke his tibia. AND HE'S A DEFENCEMAN. All these assets are better fixing the scoring issues, not the perceived issues because the names of the goaltenders aren't "elite"
