Rychel is about the eighth LWer on the Leafs depth chart. He's unlikely to be signed by the Leafs next year. Leipsic, wish him well, but he's a fourth year pro that doesn't seem to able NHL lineups so despite being the top scorer in the AHL, doubt if he a Leaf. Trouba is not wanted by many teams due to want could to be his influence to the dressing room. Almost guaranteed that Lou who has sheltered the young Leafs doesn't want him on the team. Kapanen though, what the 20 year old, sixth in AHL scoring should be on the team. If you think Zaitsev is really a NHL guy, and he's only two years away from being a UFA, will get a big contact extension...maybe six years at 4.75m Hunwick? the Leafs with cap space can do a lot better free agency.

How is what Trouba is doing much different than Vesey. Everyone wanted Vesey. He is excelling in NYR, as are the Rangers themselves.

The trade is garbage. That is why it doesn't happen. I also am starting to think that there is more going on. Maybe he does want to play in a certain market? No one is trading for him without a clause that he signs. Could be the hold up?

Vesey was a UFA on August 15th. The money was limited to a ELC contract, three years 925,000 for three years.
Trouba has the right not to resign with the Jets... But if he going to play in the NHL. his options are 1. signs with Jets 2, gets traded by Jets 3. is offered, and signs an offer sheet which guarantees his pay and service for a length of time....the Jets then have the right to match the offer. None of these three things have happened, hence the Trouba limbo.
IF, IF it's true that Trouba has "demanded" to play on the RHD or to be traded to a limited number of teams, this might made less desirable to acquire. Geez you're talking about a guy who played in the NHL three years.

Again if it true that Trouba has made conditions on the Jets what position he plays, what city he plays in....do you really think Lou of the Leafs or a lot of other teams are going to put up with that? And of course the Leafs have. cap room next year. Won't they be better not to trade a prime prospect like Kapanen and if they want a Dman next year...maybe go into the UFA market.

Oh no ! Hunwick at 1.2 mil is overpaid ! The Leafs will NOT resign him, especially to a raise.

I would stay away from Trouba, I think he is trouble we do not need.

I do like the Boyle idea though.

My point was Vesey wanted to choose his city. So did Trouba. I don't care what their status is it's still the same thing.

Players demand trades all the time. They often stay and no rifts occur.

Looks like you were totally wrong on Trouba....
