Let's pretend you took Shaw out of this trade. Hawks still pass. Roslovic isn't nearly as good as Jets fans think. Every team has prospects like him.

I mean yeah I guess. But I thought he had a pretty good season last year. Like he might be more than a 5th.

First of all, Roslovic isn’t a “prospect”. He’s an established NHLer. Second, every year he’s been in this league he’s gotten better. Last year he was a high end 3rd liner who was on the cusp of breaking into a top 6 role. Anyone who has actually seen him play (especially during the play in round), will know that he’s going to be a top 6 forward (probably as soon as this season). Keep in mind that it’s hard to score when you play on the wing (not your natural position) and in a checking role with two guys who can’t finish (especially copp).
