We’ll have accrued over $4 million in deadline cap space at this point. Even if we never send down Byron or any of the other players we’ve been sending down regularly (KK, Suzuki, Romanov, & Evans) we’d still have over $3 million in deadline cap space.

Well the trade is obviously assuming that Edler is fine with spending a few months in Montréal for a chance at a cup. But yes, there certainly is a decent chance he doesn’t waive.
