Preds would want minimum 2 1st in any deal with both Forsberg and Ekholm plus it would cost a few A-Prospects. Plus that much salary retained would cost additional assets

2 1sts and 2 of Samberg/Heinola/Perfetti/Stanley plus adds for cap maneuvers, just to have them sit for 2-3 weeks for Covid protocol and come into playoffs cold? Lol, No thanks!

Overpay for Savard. He’s still decent and would stabilize the right side but he has declined over the last few years. Most I woud go is a 3rd and Gawanke or Nikkanen.

That’s an option. But it’s like saying “why would I pay that for steak when I can get a McDonald’s cheeseburger for less”. While it’s true, the substitue isn’t the same

I also wouldn’t overpay for a steak either! Ekholm and Forsberg are good but not at the expense of literally gutting our farm.

Which is why no team would trade for both of them. Preds will have a much easier time finding separate buyers and maximize on the assets they receive
