Description
Believe moving Patrick instead of Frost would be the right move. Frost is exempt from expansion draft where as Patrick isn’t. Could be best option for Patrick as well to get his game going in NSH where there won’t be as much pressure. With AV running the bench and Laughton playing great he’s heading towards being stuck as a 4C. Our defense has been horrendous since Chuck decided not to address the need for a top 4 replacement for Niskanen. Ekholm immediately becomes the best D man on the roster. Provy has been pretty bad this year without Niskanen and not having a steady partner. Put Provy on the right and play them 25 minutes a night. By time expansion comes you can go 4-4, expose Lindblom and try to do a deal for Seattle not to select. Or go 7-3 and pay most likely a cheaper price to protect a 31 year old Ekholm on an expiring deal.

Nashville probably presses hard for Frost. I would like to know who they’ve been looking at down at the Phantoms

That’s why I put Millman. Flyers have a lot of young D down there right now assume it’s one of them. But understandable on wanting Frost I’m just not sure if he’s tradable he’s out for the season with injury.

I like Patrick but would be concerned about his injury history. I hope he’s moved past his migraine issues, but those could unfortunately come back. It’s an interesting trade idea though.

He looks like he’s passed it bc he’s taken some scary hits and gotten right back up and is laying the body as well. But you are correct those things can come back up. Good example is Backstrom he’s dealt with them his whole career and would miss some games.

It's a risk/reward type situation. Millman is a decent piece that helps mitigate some of the risks. I'd personally prefer Frost but Patrick is a great piece if he can be healthy. Definitely would be something to mull over especially with the 1st still in there.
