Description
Super simple trades

MTL-NYI Trade (based on https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/2247541)
Isles and Habs trade away struggling players for a change of scenery. Isles get Victor Mete, a project LHD who can play when called upon. Habs get Kieffer Bellows, a young goal-scoring LW who's fallen out of favor with Trotz, and Sebastian Aho, an offensive LHD who could play in the NHL if given the chance. I'm sure the Habs would be thrilled to finally have Sebastian Aho play for the Canadiens *wink wink nudge nudge*

SJS-NYI Trade (based on https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/2248987)
Isles acquire Patrick Marleau, someone who Lou has an affinity for and can play for a contender. He'd fit in nicely on the third line with Pageau and Wahlstrom, and if he struggles he can rotate with Komarov and MDC. Isles also acquire Fredrik Claesson, some nice defensive depth. I'd like to be at least 9 NHL defensemen deep come playoff time, and I think Claesson would be #8 behind Mete and ahead of Hickey. If the Sharks don't want to trade Marleau (or if Marleau doesn't want to leave SJ), I'd upgrade the pick to a 5th for Matt Nieto.

I don’t think isles fans realize how good dal colle has been this season...he’s a lot better than marleau right now.

That's why I didn't trade him away. Marleau/Komarov/MDC can play in a rotation. Marleau is better than Czarnik, Ladd, or Johnston as depth.

I wouldn’t even say Marceau is better than czarnik. Your ACGM is pretty accurate the kind of moves Lou would make, but at this point there’s no reason for MDC to be an extra if he’s healthy. Just my opinion.

MDC leads the isles in on ice expected goals %. When he’s on the ice the isles control play and dominate high danger scoring chances. His skating is average at best and he has average puck skills, but his ability to read and react to plays and be strong on the forecheck leads to results when he’s playing with talented players.

Sharks decline, that’s not enough to watch Marleau break the all time games played record elsewhere, and your team isn’t a cup contender so why would Marleau want to go?
Sorry no thanks
