gallagher is the better player. mantha doesn't even look like he wants to play hockey.

WOW! Maybe this trade happens if Montreal is still on the run they started the season with but Bergevin is fighting for his job so why would he trade Gallagher for Mantha? It doesn't make any sense. At the end of the season there will be only 2 players on the Wing's with contracts Yzerman didn't negotiate. Those are Larkin and Neilson and a good deal of respected local reporters think Neilson is gone at the end of the season. Gallagher has 1yr left with a cap hit of $3.75M and the extension he signed is for 6yrs with a cap hit of $6.50M per. That's if he waives his NMC for Detroit and don't see that happening. I get it Mantha is French Canadian but this makes less sense Montreal than it does for Detroit and they would shoot it down pretty quick. Since it is worse for Montreal they might tell you to find another team to root for because they no longer want you as a fan after proposing this trade.
