Description
I actually really like these lines. Let's say Price gets hot, can this team go super deep in the playoff's? I am talking 3rd or 4th round here. If yes, great! if no, name one player on D and one player up front that you would change, trade or add?

I think if everyone plays to their ceiling they can, if Price steps it up then they have a really solid tandem. The forward depth is pretty good if everyone plays well, it just feels like certain players have had some cold streaks at unfortunate times. Only place that you would really need to target is LD, and you probably don't need to add someone whos gonna break the bank.

I think that Montreal needs that one big name difference maker. Petry has been that this season, but I think adding one more big piece for cheap could be a really good move. Unfortunately, that sort of thing would cost us one or both of Byron and Lehkonen, but it’d be a risk I’d be willing to take

I agree with you. When everyone was jumping all over Price, they did not mention the cold streaks of six forwards that had not scored a goal in 6 to 10 games. On paper this is the best team in a decade. I am not crazy about Kulak, although he played well last night. Some people want Romanov playing next to Weber but he still chases and needs seasoning.

I have seen the Hall, Staal, Getzlaf trades. Wingers we are fine. If you bring in a Centre who are you making a healthy scratch? Staal and or Getzlaf will not want to be 4th line players, so who do you sit? Suzuki, Danault or KK? it makes no sense to sit any of those guys.

I would like a seasoned RD for 3rd pairing. Move Romanov to LD and make Kulak your healthy scratch. But making big trades to lose good solid prospects makes no sense. I am seeing Caufield, KK and Ylonen trades to land a rental. Makes zero sense to do that.

So this team is good and if they peak at right time, could go deep!

Sports is all about timing. 31 plays well along with the forwards and defence they could easily go deep. Anderson, toffoli and gallagher keep chugging, the rest heat up and maybe add caufield(which I think they do) this team would be tough to play against. Special teams will still be key, even with less use in the playoffs you still need sharp special teams
