Think if Buffalo went elsewhere they could get a better prospect, and would swing on that with a similar return outside of the prospect

The only way Sam will be traded is if the Pegula's decide to start all over and trade Eichel as well.
That is the typical return for a top player, 1st, decent prospect (former first round pick), and a young roster player with a decent upside (DeBrusk).
I wonder what Sweeney expected from Kase to give up a first round pick for him.
Let's presume Kase, DeBrusk and Vaakanainen all reach their top potential, none of them will be as good as Reinhart,
I agree, I think Buffalo would still pass on this deal.
