Description
Goaltending- easiest way to stabilize this team is to get better (healthier) goaltending. Ullmark is great when healthy. Gave Raanta a raise. having 2 quality goaltenders allows them to stay fresh and hopefully keeps Ullmark healthy.

Defense- speaking Owen Power into existence (likely the sabres will pick 3rd but w/e). Bridged Dahlin (contract might be low but even though he's been better as of late, he still has a lot to improve upon).

Forwards- Young guys (especially Mitts) have improved a lot under Granato. Hopefully Cozens continues to develop into the 2C role and Jack comes back healthy and motivated. Signed Hyman to improve team speed on the wing.

Gave Sam a nice long raise. I could certainly see him wanting out and wouldn't blame him but I hope they can lock him up long term.

Quinn isn't ready yet so another year in Roch is ideal for development.

Coach- IMO this will be the biggest thing (outside of the goalies). I''d like Bruce Boudreau personally but we'll see.

Forwards are more important than defensemen.

I sure hope we draft a forward unless we drop to 4th and Berniers and Eklund are gone already. Who would we be losing to Seattle, you didn't include that. Also, I'm in favour of keeping Granato as head coach going into next year. 5-6 players have taken leaps and bounds seemingly under his leadership and we are winning games against pretty good teams even without Ullmark, McCabe or Eichel, our best players in their respective positions. I don't think keeping Granato would be a bad idea at all. We've just seen BB have success in this league and having a veteran HC in charge could help continue the development of these younger players.

I think Seattle will likely be picking from a group of Asplund, Miller, McCabe and Borgen. Depending on the situation I think they would lean towards taking McCabe but thats just my opinion.

"Gave Sam a nice long raise." - I dont see Sam signing for less than $7 mill with this team, so 6 over 6 seems very unlikely. 0 interest in Power, let alone any of the dmen in the top of this draft, the Sabres are much better off trading the pick. Jokiharju gets more. Extremely hesitant to give Raanta that contract just because of his advanced stats on another team. Good luck getting Hyman to come to Buffalo, I want him but so do 31 other teams. Girgensons wont be LTIR next year and that 4th line will need way more Grit, not a place for Ruotsalainen or Thompson

McCabe is UFA, so Seattle takes someone that could walk in a week. Borgen would be the better option
