Description

Az trade sets up the wild to do 7-3-1 protecting Parise, zuccarello, fiala, jee, schmaltz, foligno, garland, Suter, spurgeon, brodin, kahkonnen. Leaving exposed sturm, rask, soucy, talbot. Would expect them to take soucy or talbot, but wish they’d take rask.

I pick the az trade as it gets as a little younger, shores up the d and gives them a 2nd rounder. Not sure how ont he value is, figuring swapping top 6 forwards size and youth for skill. Then dumba and a 2nd for schmaltz.

Updating to include garland. Which I somehow overlooked. I’d protect him over hartman and change hartmans deal to 2 years not 3. Also resign cole for 1 year not 2. That way there’s money available for kahkonnen next contract. And bridge deals.

You need to protect garland, and then sign him

More than likely protect Garland over Hartman. But would 4.6 get Garland signed? Also wouldnt leave much room for Kaapo's next contract after this season.

I would do this trade for the Wild if they can move more money out. Gives them 2 right handed shots in the forward group (lack pretty bad on that) and one being a center.
