In five years, the odds are about even on whether Buffalo ends up with the best center in one of these deals. Right now Eichel>Kuznetsov>Kotkaniemi>Lapierre. But for how long?

Samsonov and two firsts are padding. Miller for Kulak and Fleury gets Buffalo's defense younger (Fleury) and gets MTL to bite on Kuznetsov by giving them a little more offense so they feel they can make the playoffs and it's worth adding a top center.

Hagelin for Girgensons is about even, but Hags is Swedish and has a Cup ring from Pitt, so the intangibles fit Buffalo better in terms of leadership and language on a young team with a lot of Swedish kids.

Guys in taxi squad are new top prospects.
