Description
My thoughts on how this team should go in the offseason. I'll my explanations are left below.

Hyman, shouldn't need to explain that one of our best players, him getting 4x4 seems likely.

Folingo, only been with the team for a month, but he's been solid, I don't see him getting much since he's on the older side now and is starting to decline.

Jumbo, and Spezza, been great this year, plus can't go wrong with league min.

Simmonds, might as well bring him back for the grit, unlikely he get's more then 1M.

Dermott to SEA, best case for Toronto.

Brought Bogo just in case.

Now Driedger has been one of the best back ups this year (or starter call him either) I think he'd be a great fit for us with Campbell and him that would be pretty good assuming they don't just decide to suck.

Let me know what you think and if I missed anything or if there should be any changes.

If 4x4 is Toronto’s offer for Hyman, he will be playing for a different team.

My feedback would be:
1) Hyman will get a lot more than 4x4. Think closer to 5M x 5 or 6 years, give or take.
2) Agree on Foligno. Likely gonna need to get closer to 3m x 2 to get him to sign. Columbus will offer him a deal to come back and they have $.
3) Jumbo is done after this year.
4) I like Bogo, but the way he has played this year he will find a team where he is basically guaranteed a 3rd pairing spot. He won't sign to be a 7th D

Agree with the above that Hyman is getting more. Reports say Toronto might struggle to pay him $5mil or more, so he either takes a hometown discount for $4.5 for 5 or goes elsewhere for $5 plus (my money is somewhere like Florida or LA).

I also think that, as much as the Leafs would love Driedger as their backup, he will get paid almost twice that (around $4 million) by a weaker team looking for a starter (BUF, EDM, ARI, DET, SJS, etc.)

The only way the Leafs might bring back those UFA veterans is if the Leafs win the Cup, otherwise it will be time to move on. Certainly some iffy $$$ paid for some of these players.

With the minutes Spezza has been logging he may come back for one more.
Thornton will either throw in the towel or test FA or retire with the Sharks.

I think Simmonds should be brought back. Had he not been injured he was settling into a good (former self) offensive groove.
I like what BOGO has brought. I'll never hear his name for anything offensive, but I rarely hear his name for defensive blunders either. He's a solid DMan (third pairing) who adds toughness in front of Campbell. In a pinch he can also move up the lineup for a short time if injuries occur. It would have to be a similar contract to this year to make it feasible for the Leafs though.

I think the leafs should try to resign Foligno and Nash if possible. Trade Engvall (Nash would replace) and see if Seattle takes Kerfoot. If so, I wouldn't mind seeing Gally back for another year on a lower end deal (1.2-1.5m).

Perhaps Rittich signs for a cheap 1-2 year deal and we ride with Soup/Rittich. Or test their luck with Mike Smith for a year (playing lights out for Edmonton).
