cbj isnt trading their best center and 2 firsts, one which will be an early pick in a great draft most likely.

CBJ was interested in Marner before because they wanted someone to play with Dubois, now Dubois is gone and a winger is in, they need a good playmaking center for Laine now not another winger

Marner would fit so well with Columbus. He is a 200' player and an elite playmaker for Laine to play with. I dont think this offer is that far off

no way lol. marner is overpaid and has a reputation to become completely invisible when it matters. we also already have too many RW's and we need centers.


also, cbj is trying to build a better culture so trading a hometown player who wants to be here for a kid with supposed attitude and dad issues is not a good idea.

Lol not sure who your sources are regarding the dad issues. But I think he is just not handling the fishbowl that is toronto. Not everyone can handle that. Maybe it is someone other than Jack coming our way, but I think Marner would be a great fit there.. even though I am sure he would haunt us for years to come
