You’d have to add Elivis and a Jones extension before Edmonton would even consider that price, Jones has shown he’s a very good nhl dman what he hasn’t shown is to be the guy on the backend that puts you over the top, he’s also played under a coach with a very defensive first structure which has help hide some of his short comings. It sounds like he’s set on testing the market which greatly effects his value no ones paying top value for one yr, the only way the jackets are getting top value for him if he agrees to extension, the question is what he’s will to settle for, he’s good, but he’s not at the level of player that teams will be willing to sign to big money long term deals, with the flat cap rumoured of being around for the next 5 yrs 3/4 of his extension would fall into those yrs.
