They aren't giving up a guy that should've won the conn smythe for that and also Leafs easily say no

That trade isn't going to cut it for the Leafs. They aren't likely to want a decent top-6 winger, a cap dump and a mid-first round pick for a 90 point player (no matter what people say about them being "screwed" or forced or whatever). If that is the best offer for Marner (It won't be, not even close) the Leafs will happily keep him and watch him make the all-star game.

Imagine if the Leafs offered you Zach Hyman, Ilya Mikheyev and a first round pick for Elias Petterson? You'd probably laugh right? Well...... *spidermanpointinggif*

Not the same. MIller is an excellent top line winger but more importantly he can be an elite 3C if they need him to be. The cap isnt going to go up for years so the Leafs are not going to be able to have 3 players taking up 40% of their cap and build a complete roster like Tampa did. It gives the a top 10 pick, a versitale player and the ability to resign Hyman, address their blueline and goaltender.
