Even if he hits free agency Van won't have cap. They'll have 46 million before Petterson, Hughes and Boeser has contracts. Petterson and Hughes in about 15 million and Boeser qualifying offer is 7.5 million. Meaning if you tender an offer that's the least he can get. So have at maximum 24 million of cap space while have only 10 roster players.
