Repalcing Dougie

I like the starting look of the Seth Jones trade but I think Canes have to spend a little bit more for Jones. Possibly Keane is involved in that trade

I think Jones trade is ok but personally wouldn't go towards him as a replacement. I'm lower on him than some people but even if he plays well Canes are likely in the same situation as with Dougie this time next year. Would rather sign a UFA to replace him and not give up extra assets.

Also if you're buying into Svech UFA, would think that deal is much longer. Otherwise just need to do a 2-3 yr bridge deal so he's still under control at the end of it. Probably need to do more on the offensive side as well, that's where they faltered in the playoffs really the past couple of years. You still have plenty of cap space so would think bringing in another 2 top 9 guys and moving on from somebody like Foegs would be nice.

Why wouldn't the Canes resign him?
