I don't hate it but I personally am not that big a fan of Jones long-term and for how much Canes are giving up in this deal gotta think an extension is in play here. Also not sure how Laine fits in Carolina, I've always liked his game but I could see that as a risky move and I just don't think it's worth potentially blowing up the team and mortgaging the future. Canes aren't that far off - I'd rather see them move on from some guys (keep McGinn and move Foegs, Marty, Pacquette) and then if they don't re-sign Dougie use that money to grab 1-2 of Barrie & Oleksiak / Savard / etc.

No way Columbus goes for that. That package MIGHT get one but not both.

This package should get both, but I don't want both. Jones leaves in UFA like Dougie. I'm okay with Laine, but for this cost, it's a risk that I don't want us to take.
