Description
I wonder if Jim Benning is willing to trade for British Columbia native Sam Reinhart and then sign him to a short-term deal, in the hope that he'll re-sign a longer contract after playing with the team?

This seems like a serious risk for a guy who isn't known to take such serious risks.

To be honest, I don't see either of the local boys (Reinhart or Rielly) as realistic rentals for Vancouver unless there was one of those "wink, wink" agreements in place before the trade.

    I think it's either the 1st and a prospect or Hoglander and a 2nd

'cause I don't think one year of Sam Reinhart is worth that much. The idea here is, Vancouver trades for him, and then in order to avoid arbitration in the first year, signs him to a two-year deal that he accepts.

I don't think that you guys are going to get anywhere near what you think you're going to get for Reinhart. But you could be right, and I could be wrong.

(I was just about to comment about your almost simultaneous Reinhart trade, but positively on your Eichel proposal.)

Or just sign him to an 8 year deal. Sabres would have more interest inthe 1 for 1 but CBJ has more interest and a higher puck, so Vancouver is out or ups the offer. Nobody factors in other teams in their race to screw the Sabres
