Ducks decline. They're not going to water down a potential return for Lindholm by including Rico. At a $1.96 mil buyout, they'd be better off to do it themselves, which, there really isn't any need of, since they still need depth down the middle.

You've tacked 3 players that you don't want together, then added a very late 2nd in a "Meh" draft, as well as two mid-level prospects, and somehow you've managed to pick up a top pairing LD. Wayyyy too much quantity, and not enough quality.

you're basically getting 2 B level prospecs and about 5 mill in cap space next year for a UFA. I don't see the fuss here.

And that’s not even close to enough for Lindholm.

The "fuss" is because you're giving us 6 players we really don't want and can't use. Aside from the fact that cap space means nothing to us, why should we take on 6 players to fill 2 roster slots when none of the 6 players is better than either of the players we're trading away and, as you admit, 2 of the 6 are only B prospects?

The going price for a top defenseman with one year left is a first-round draft pick and an A prospect. We have no need to water down that return by including a player you don't value and we do.
