Description
Variation on the last few WPG AC-GM's I've made. I signed Ryan Murray to a 1 year "prove it" contract to show that he can stay healthy and be effective. In turn, he can earn a bigger pay day next year (presumable from another team.) I figure as a Prairies boy he would consider WPG as an option.

I also believe that without a doubt Heinola is ready for the NHL...but hearing Maurice's comments about how he wants to bring in a couple veterans and that the younger players will have to earn it, unfortunately I think that means Heinola at least starts in the AHL.

First AHL Call Ups:

FWD: Toninato, Graovac, Salomaki, Todd

DEF: Heinola, Samberg

GOA: Comrie

I think that actually looks pretty decent. Although that is a pretty busy summer. Unfortunately, Maurice is far more likely to use a 4th line of plugs than he is to use guys with talent there.

Thanks man! And exactly, it's gonna be so frustrating if guys like Vesalainen, Gustafsson, Perfetti, Heinola aren't given a true shot at full time roles.

I heard Maurice's interview last week, was a depressing listen!

Other teams are having success by just letting their young guys play but not this organization, just keep signing plug retreads to block the kids and make them really "earn it".

If Makar was a Jet he'd be sitting in the press box.. Lol

Roslovic won't be the last guy that asks for a trade cause he can see his career going down the tubes, the Winnipeg Jets organization already has enough working against it to build a winner, having a dinosaur coach isn't making it any easier to build a winner.

Ownership seems content with mediocrity though unfortunately.

I do like your veteran signings though I wouldn't bother signing Helm, if the Jets are going to sign veterans at least sign ones that can contribute, Murray and Savard would be good additions to the D core.

I agree with you 100% my man, it was a rough one. I hate that I can't disagree with anything that you said haha. There is just no need to continually sign these 4th liners who essentially block our young guys. At some point you need to give them a long look. If they truly show they're not ready, that's okay, send them back to the AHL etc. These vets should be brought in purely as the extra 13th/14th forwards though.

It’s so frustrating because chevy brings in these guys as 13th F or 7th dman and Paul plays them like top 4 pair and top 9 guys
