Description

- If Landy wants to stay, I think his new contract will have to be comparable to RNH in EDM.
- we keep 2 times Stanley Cup winner Brandon Saad
- Seth Jones would probably just be a rental for a cup run next year and Justin Barron will take his place after that.
- I think Reinhart would be a perfect fit on the 2nd line instead of Kadri
- reshaped and much more robust defense with Hamilton, Oleksiak and Jones
- key addition to bottom six: Barclay Goodrow and Nick Paul. Much more grit, harder to play against compared to Compher and Donskoi
- don't spend $6M+ on Grubauer. Sign Chris Driedger instead.
- key rookies: Alex Newhook, Sampo Ranta

I wouldn’t mind having Grubauer on our team, but there is no way we would have to give you a second for his signing rights. If that was the case, I would wait for him to hit free agency if you guys don’t give him a contract.

Super hard pass on the Sens trade. I dont know what the perceived value of Girard and Compher are but I promise you it's not a high 1st, 2nd and Nick Paul (who'd probably fetch a pick around there himself).
Aside from the value being off I think it's also very relevant that Ottawa isnt looking for a LD. If Girard played the right side there may have been interest but between Chabot, Brannstrom and Sanderson it wouldnt make much sense to acquire another LD when RD is a clear weakness. Compher on the other hand would fit a need to a degree but at most would probably fetch a 3rd?
