after the request from voracek that seems like a logical solution to solve both teams issues with similar cap hits going back

Both teams are wanting to be in win now mode so I don't see why STL wouldn't want a guy who can step right in and be their top line RWer.

I do not think we move Subban this year. (a) we need him in top-4. (b) we need his cap hit to keep us above floor.

I think Gostisbehere for Butcher makes more sense.
Allows Flyers to free cap next summer.
And more of like-for-like, change of scenery move.

But I don't think we can fill the Flyers RD hole since we have a RD hole of our own.

The difference is that you aren't going to contend for anything and ghost can definitely play the right side. It clears cap for you now to maybe spend in free agency.

We don't want to clear cap space - we are below the floor!
We want young d-men we can develop with the rest of our kids.
