Murray exposed and selected

I can't imagine that will be the case.

If we lose a goalie, it’s far more likely to be Daccord or Forsberg than Murray imo, I’d argue Murray is the 3rd most likely of our goalies to be selected lol. And obviously I think Tierney and Dadonov are both far more appealing as potential selections. If they don’t like Dadonov at 5mil (a reasonable number for a solid player, but not a small number) then Tierney is a pretty safe pick no matter how you slice it, everybody needs centres, so even if they don’t want him to complement their centre depth, then they can easily flip him to a team like Edmonton or San Jose that needs a 3C (and I’m sure you could find 10 other teams who want a 3C).

It doesn't matter what we think, this was a what if, and since it's a possibility, I wanted to see how it looks, before UFA are brought into it.

9 months ago, Dorion signed a 26 year old goalie with two stanley cup rings to the 7th highest AAV among goaltenders. Now he believes that contract he felt was a good idea is protection for Murray. Maybe it is, and maybe it isn't. This is what happens if Ron Francis decides on the 27 year old goalie with two cup rings, and who played elite goaltending when the team played better around him.
