Why dont teams do this

For 7 years?

Bruh what if no one accepts that? you’ll be stuck with 2 players eating almost half your cap. No team is gonna pay picks for a UFA they could’ve signed on their own. This is why teams don’t do this…

There are a few reasons:

-Eating cap dumps is exceptionally expensive, so there is a disincentive for team
-Teams usually don't have enough time or ability to create these moves in UFA. Players are leveraging pressure to get deals done
-Players get so overpaid in UFA already there is little reason to change anything
