Description
Wild missed on Pius Suter, the only center worth going for in FA. Unless Krejci somehow decides he wants to play for the Wild instead of the Bruins or somewhere in the Czech Republic, we'll have to go the trade route. Here are some options worth considering that shouldn't cost the moon (Eichel).
Trades
1.
MIN
  1. Dvorak, Christian
  2. Schmaltz, Nick
Additional Details:
I like Dvorak more
ARI
2.
MIN
  1. Mittelstadt, Casey [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
He had a sneaky good season, I don't think the Sabres want to trade him, though
BUF
3.
MIN
  1. Monahan, Sean
Additional Details:
Guerin has shown no interest in him, but I like his game. His price is at an all-time low
CGY
4.
MIN
  1. Trocheck, Vincent
Additional Details:
Necas will soon pass him on the depth chart if he hasn't already. Sell when he still has value, no?
CAR
5.
MIN
  1. Strome, Dylan
Additional Details:
Could be a cheap addition. He is 4th in Hawks' depth chart behind Toews (if healthy), Dach and Johnson
CHI
6.
MIN
  1. MacKinnon, Nathan
Additional Details:
Lol just checking if anyone actually browses through these
COL
7.
MIN
  1. Lizotte, Blake
Additional Details:
Maybe not a top6 C, but I like his game and he is cheap to acquire - remember, he was left unprotected.
LAK
8.
MIN
  1. Kotkaniemi, Jesperi [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
This would be huge, but so would be the price...
MTL
9.
MIN
  1. Johansen, Ryan
Additional Details:
If they retain half and take Rask - boom.
NSH
10.
MIN
  1. Zacha, Pavel
Additional Details:
Young and on the rise. After the Hamilton signing, I doubt we have anything the Devils want, though.
NJD
11.
MIN
  1. Zibanejad, Mika
Additional Details:
If they shoot for Eichel, Ziba becomes expendable - they can't afford to keep both
NYR
12.
MIN
  1. Malkin, Evgeni
Additional Details:
Guerin loves Malkin and has a past with him. Some retention and Malkin waiving his no-move should do it, unless the Pens think they still contend
PIT
13.
MIN
  1. Hertl, Tomas
Additional Details:
Only has one year left, but if you can do a sign-n'-trade...
SJS
14.
MIN
  1. Cirelli, Anthony
Additional Details:
I doubt this happens especially after Bowman wanted to help BriseBois so much
TBL
15.
MIN
  1. Pettersson, Elias [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
Offer sheet him - I worship chaos!

Hertl, Strome and Dvorak are the most realistic options

Hertl, Kotkaniemi, and Cirelli are my favorites but they are also some of the least likely to happen. Somehow grabbing Hertl would be huge but he would have to agree to an extension pre trade.

Strome is ahead of Johnson and Toews on the depth chart. That may be a hot take but we have no idea what condition Toews will be in next season and he could relapse if he pushes himself to hard again. Johnson is a good complementary piece, but Strome is about equal probably.

I’m waiting for you to trade him for Jarry and a First

I’d throw Henrique on that list, as consideration. Ducks would need to retain and there’s chatter of him moving
