Predictions:

Gallagher Petry Toffolli Edmonson Chiarot Price and Allen are the leadership group that fills Weber's void.

Romanov replaces Weber in every way except the locker room. Powerplay prowess, physical and offensive and defensive force. He calms his game down and outplays Savard early and often. He and Chiarot become a formidable 2D pairing led by Romanov.

Suzuki continues to evolve and becomes the shutdown center Danault was plus puts up 25 goals and + 40 assists. He starts to draw comparisons to Pavel Datsyuk. He and Caufield tear it up on the Powerplay all year.

KK takes huge strides and becomes an absolute beast to play against offensively and defensively. Puts up 15+ goals and 30-40 assists with Hoffman, and Anderson on his wings.

Evans becomes that smart effective 3rd line center who wins draws, plays great D and puts up some points with Drouin, Armia or Caufield on his wings

Paquette and Poehling battle it out for fourth line duties and form one of the best 4 lines in hockey with Byron and lehkonen as wingers.

Gallagher, Anderson, Hoffman, Caufield all flirt with 30 goals.

Caufield wins rookie of the year.

Drouin Toffolli go 20+goals 20+assists

Lehkonen Byron Armia Evans lead one of the top PKs in the league and MTL leads the league in shorthanded goals.

MTL has one of the top PPs in the league

Carey Price is in the Vezina trophy talks again.

Jeff Petry has a Norris Trophy nomination like season.

Habs pick up key depth veterans at the deadline and Shea Weber comes off the IR in the playoffs Ala Kucherov and they return to the Cup once again.

Corey Perry is devastated he decided on TB after they lose to MTL in the Conference finals and apologizes on behalf of Kucherov for last year's post Stanley Cup comments.

Gallagher has his own post Cup press conference with a Molson Canadian and is tens times classier.

They build a statue for Bergevin outside the Bell Centre.

That was actually entertaining to read. Now go brush your teeth and get to bed. You’ve had a long day in the sun.

I do think this team can have some success without moving the needle on an Eichel deal, but I have to say you're fairly optimistic.

At this pace Suzuki may evolve into a player who provides more on-ice value than Danault, largely due to his better offensive talent, but counting on him to assume Danault's defensive role and talent right away is intrepid.

Counting on Romanov to take on Weber's on-ice responsibilities is doom for failure. He may be as good as Weber currently is in his D+7 season, but he cannot be it on a contending team.

Without Weber, who I criticized a lot on the PP, leaves our units without any other appealing options. The void created by Perry's departure makes it even worse. Counting solely on MIke Hoffman and Chris Wideman? to elevate it from one of the worst to one of the best is risky.

It's gotta disagree. It's called evolution. No one is relying on Wideman for anything. He's a depth Defenceman with some potential upside. Romanovs potential is through the roof. Weber was a step slower out there all season, he consistently got beat in his own end and was at times a liability. His powerplay prowess was non existent and a non factor. He stepped up in the playoffs and was effective. Romanov talent is unquestioned. The reason he wasn't playing in the playoffs is because he was to all over the place in his own end. I believe he comes back a controlled player who harnesses those skills and become a force on the back end for us. He's to strong and too good of a skater. He just needs to calm down. If you watch the games you can see it coming for him. An evoluion like that in his game easily replaces Weber on the ice. The kid is a beast.

Guys like him and KK are on the brink and oozing with talent. These are usually the years (age) guys like this find their game and become true pros. Both these guys have had their growing pains, this year they overcome the hurdle IMO.

Suzuki has already arrived and only gets better. He is already a better player than Danault and his defence in the playoffs was over shadowed by Danaults impressive performance. Suzuki is capable of Danaults defence plus bring 3x the offence.

The rest is optimism for sure but certainly not dreamy fiction. These guys all went to the Cup last year. It took them all season to find their game as a team. Can't wait to see what a really.offseason and training camp will do for these guys. Our depth has to be one of the best in the league. Byron Lehkonen, Armia, Paquette as 4th liners. Come on.

Perry was a dynamic influence and brought some real intangibles.he will be missed but is replaceable. Perrault +Paquette And the rest of these guys all just spent a season learning from him...evolution .
