I dont know that I would say their salaries "disappear." Kane will probably still get 8M and Toews will probably get 5 or 6 M. So greatly reduced, yes, but disappear, no

StanBo has been saying that they’re in such a good position with almost nobody signed beyond 2 years. They can really focus on who they want and for how long/how much to rebuild this team. Unfortunately, I don’t fully trust Stan to hand out good contracts.
