I think if there's one thing Guerin has made abundantly clear, it's that he's not going to trade good, long-term future pieces for short-term solutions. He's said as much on numerous occasions. So the thought of trading pieces like 1sts or good prospects for players like Monahan, Zibanejad, Hertl, that's just a pipe dream for some fans.

That’s a decent move for both sides IMO. I do think the problem is the Wild are still gathering futures. A guy like Strome for a mid rd pick would be a better way to go all things considered. (Haggle over the value there, but I don’t think Strome gets near the proposed offers I’ve seen.)
