Description
Kane contract termination. Holtz-Meier trade is something that could realistically happen in the NHL. Meier would be a great addition and be a beast with Hischier. I included the conditional third as an extra (a 2nd would probably make the deal even more likely) if Meier doesn't hit 25+ goals in the next 2 seasons. Sure Devils might pass, they might take it; Wilson has made crazier trades.

  1. Gambrell, Dylan ($500,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Gambrell hasn't reached his peak and won't hit it with the sharks. Moving him is best for both sides. He can most likely take on a role similar to Goodrow with the Bolts at a cheep price.

SJS
  1. Smith, Brendan

5.
SJS
  1. Holtz, Alexander
Additional Details:
Holtz would be a nice addition. He plays with Eklund in Djurgardens. A reunion in San Jose is sure to benefit boths' growth.
NJD
  1. Meier, Timo
  2. 2023 3rd round pick (TBL)
  3. 2023 3rd round pick (SJS)
Additional Details:
People underrate Timo Meier. He's a 30 goal scorer and has struggled the past two years on poor sharks team with mediocre coaching. A change of scenery and being able to play with a fellow country man is sure to return him to a 30 goal scorer.

*2023 SJS 3rd Condition: If Meier scores fewer then 25 goals, pick goes to NJD

Can't tie players signing to conditions - CBA rule.

I think you could get more for Hertl.

This is a horrible deal. Horrible.

Here are some actual facts
Avg per 82:
Debrusk 23g 22a
Hertl 24g 28a

Debrusk is younger and under team control. They had almost identical 1st 4 years in league. Debrusk had a terrible year. One year. During a pandemic.

Hertl's arch is better the last couple years, but there is no reason to Debrusk can't go back to any year but last year.

Hertl is a center and has more value, but it's not as great as you are making it.

Again, not for one year, and honestly not unless he signs for around the same.

He is 27, played 500 nhl games and averaged 9 more points a season.

Something tells me Debrusk's 5% shooting last year was tje anomaly. Not the other three years @ 11-15%.
