Yes. He was horrid last year. Sure, he could bounce back, but he shouldn’t have been in the lineup last year. Lazar is better, playing the lesser player because he’s getting paid more is a pretty dumb strategy. Lazar in, Wagner out costs the bruins zero extra dollars against the cap and makes the team better.

Maybe my point was lost in translation. You said, “would you rather waste the 1.35?” I think that notion is, for a lack of a better term, kinda dumb. If you’re taking contract into consideration instead of just icing the best roster with the signed players, it seems like a bad tactic.
