Description
Just interested in opinions on this deal. I'm certain Sharks will want Boldy, Rossi, or Wallstedt, but no one is moving their top prospects, probably because of cap stagnation, Wilson wants assets and really can't hand out a long term contract right now. Though he probably is waiting to see how the Kane situation shakes out.
Rask is a cap dump but he only has 1 year left and is skilled he just can't keep up due to lack of skating skill. He is serviceable for the Sharks current team, and may even be worth re-signing to a shorter term deal at about half the AAV while Sharks develop prospects like Khusnutdinov.
I buried Kane, because I don't think he plays for the Sharks again, too much dirty laundry, and if gambling on Sharks games is true he may never play in NHL again.

yeah, this could totally work. Sharks are in a position where they need to keep a competitive lineup for the sake of celebrated veterans: Karlsson, Burns, & Couture.

It seems eminently reasonable to me -- if anything, a slight overpayment (maybe by the third).

I added the third only because Rask is a cap dump, but because he is somewhat serviceable I did debate not adding it.

I think that's good value, I don't think Hertl warrants a top prospect like boldy, rossi or Wallstedt in a package personally. Greenway is a good player, MK is a nice piece plus the picks. They might find a home for Rask at the deadline if his pay improves a bit as well.

As a Minneosta fan I'll pass. Hertl would be amazing but i don't think we need to rush anything. Especially with Hertl needing a new contract. Plus, I'm a massive fan of Khusnutdinov and have been since he was a draft eligible

However if the Wild were going after Hertl I wouldn't mind giving up Khovanov who's still a very solid prospect
