I would take this. Adams may have to sell the retention to pegula. They could hold out for a better offer, but this includes two young forward players (one who is a center), a late first, and an older forward that can be flipped for at least a second (maybe a first with retention, depends on the market). Theres enough there that adams can say he got something substantial back, and vegas can also claim a win because they are getting a top whatever player in the world for some stuff that might not amount to anything. Do i think there should be a stronger offer?- absolutely. But if there isnt, this is pretty much as low as i would go before i settle in and wait til the surgery is done, or the olympics is done, or june. Whatever.

I could see a small amount of retention but not that much. 500k to a mil tops, if it helps broker a deal.

Here's how I see it. In theory Buffalo is at a similar spot in their prospect pool to where Toronto was when they traded Kessell to Pittsburgh. Now I'm not saying Buffalo will sign those same enormous cobtracts but they do also have Skinners albatross deal in the lineup. Lets say they get 2 high draft picks in the next 2 years and both instantly enter the league, as well as Power and Quinn join the ranks in those 2 years as well. Assuming these good prospects live up to about 80% of their potential thats a lot of cap space they will eat up 3-4 years doen rhe road. Look at how much Toronto has had to micromanage the last couple years due to the Kessel retention
