We would like a better return for Greenway. A low 1st / early 2nd or a B+ prospect on elc. With Pens I would personally do a Greenway - Blueger swap.

Poulin is Pittsburgh's best remaining prospect. This is fair.

He is, but I do not believe in qmjhl stats. Plus, he is a couple of years away. And we need to contend just like Pens.

We're not contending until two things happen.

1) Rossi is ready to take over that 1C spot, and then has had a year or two to properly settle into it.

2) The Parise and Suter buyouts go down after 4 years.

I'm certain we'll compete for playoffs spots on a regular basis, but we won't be contenders until those two things happen.

You said it yourself, Greenway is worth either a low 1st or a B+ prospect. Poulin is a B+ prospect.

I think that if we want to keep our core together, we need to compete now. Kaprizov might be done in 5 years, so is Fiala. We would be in the playoffs without high draft picks, so no outstanding prospects unless Judd Brackett does something exceptional. And this would leave us in a rebuild after rebuild if we are not showing our stars that we are serious. Poulin is good, but Blueger is a proven 3C and an Ek type of player who would allow to move Ek up. Wild would benefit from Ek being in top 6 more than of a good but raw LW prospect. We just need to see beyond the value and also take the needs into account.
