how could this be what could have been with Drouin and Laine were not available, especially at those values

We are worse with these trades in my opinion, and Klefbom wasn’t coming back. I rather have Keith anyway over Ghost especially since you have Ghost top pair minutes. A whole right side of offensive defence men, is not good. Drouin is streaky, not near as good as Hyman. Laine is not worth the hassle. Also, he doesn’t play defence. I would not want him on my team, and he should not get top line minutes on this squad. He is a cancer, and has no business being here. Starting Marody, and Benson would be bad, because they are both not proven, slow, and should not be here. Maybe one, but not both. Konovalov is not ready, and that bottom 6 is bad. I don’t want to sound rude, but I wouldn’t have done any of this.

Gostisbehere is a 3rd pairing defenseman, I'm not sure why you think this would be an upgrade over Keith.

I’d rather the roster Holland has put together. Drouin would have been a good target if hyman wasn’t available.
