They want a top 6 player.

So they traded a top 6 player (Buchnevich) to make room for Kravstov. Kravstov can’t make the top 14 and then they want a top 6 player.

its funny how many rangers fans actually believe he can get that type of return, too.

He's worth a 2nd, and that return was set by fellow bust Andersson. Krav has done no more in NA than Andersson has.

eh it's still early to compare him to Andersson. However, I agree he's not getting a top 6 player or a 1st.
I think they will swap prospects with someone to be honest. We'll see.

I think he has higher bounceback potential. But, he was drafted one year after Lias and we are having this conversation a year after Lias was traded. Even if Krav's skillset his higher, his NA output is no better. As such his value is in the same general range as Lias. I also don't expect a inferior gm in Drury to get it done better than Gorton.

I get where you're going. But he's only 21. If we are having this conversation next year, you're on the right path. But this is 21-22 year not 22-23.
I look at it this way.
Most guys are going to enter AHL at 20. They will spend anywhere from 6 months to 2 years there. But at that time, if you aren't showing something, something is really wrong.
This guy entered in at 19-20. He's got a year to go.
On top of it his development has been kind of screwed up. He's been bounced around all over, only got 40 games in at the AHL level, and then thrown in at the NHL level at his 20-21 year.
You throw a guy in with no real development, what you get is a ruined player in a lot of cases. Which is probably why they wanted to send him to the AHL.
I think it's a bit early, but I agree, the value here is not a 1st or top 6 player. I do think there is a chance he ends up with a much better career than Lias though.
I think it's too early to say a guy with 20 nhl games and 39 AHL games is on bust street. He probably needed a full season in the AHL which he hasn't got.
