That could be a really interesting trade. Preds would get a stud at center, and would allow them to go 7-3-1 in expansion draft. Rangers get ellis for RHD which might be better than overpaying for Shattenkirk. A very intriguing deal!

Klein will not be selected instead of Grabner, Holden, Lindberg or Fast. Buying out Staal would hurt for 8 long years!!!!!!!! That's a lot of exclamation points, 8. Probably ride it out as long as we can, like DG one long year at a time. Maybe time for DG buyout, only 6 painful years ?

In my opinion, it's not the time to buy out Marc Staal. I don't think they should buy out Girardi, but if they need to buy one out, i'd say it would be girardi but that's just me.

I agree.
Also, if it's going to be over $2M to buy him out, you might be able to find a taker if you retain $2-2.5M instead. On the books for a shorter period of time.
