Montreal doesn;t have the cap space, let alone want Ritchie.

Malkin probably gets more than that, especially since you're asking for 4,75mil retained, by a club who isn;lt giving up on this season, because their key players (Malkin, Crosby, Letang, Carter) dont have tons of chances left.

But I'm thinking you'd have to offer an overpay, something like it would have to be a Holl, a 2022 1st rounder, (much better draft) and a top prospect (Topi, Robertson or Amirov) and maybe a 2nd

????? True. Still but not talking about cap. It's making a reasonable roster through the season with 22 man roster and 7th Dmen. And even if the Leafs made the playoffs, they still don't have a 7th NHL competent Dman
