Protas and McMichael should be playing in the NHL for the rest of the year. They are the 2 best CF% players on the team. I would trade Eller before sending them down. I also would play Protas over Sprong.

I agree with Eller and playing McMichael but I think sprong was struggling but is starting to turn it on he was good last year and is just what they need so I don’t want to see sprong out the the line-up. I would rather see them also trade hagelin

I don't agree with playing Protas this year. In my opinion, CF% is an incredibly flawed stat due to how it can be influenced by what lines you play on, and Protas has only played 8 games so I don't think there is enough to immediately say he should play the rest of the year. Protas currently has a 0.1 GSVA according to the Athletic, and Eller had one higher than that (Unfortunately can't give you the number as the Athletic takes out players from their depth chart snapshots when out). I would like the Capitals to McMichael this year, but I think DC will send him down until the Salary Cap allows for a call up so they don't lose AJF.

To be fair, you can say this about pretty much any statistic. CF% isn't a perfect statistic, but it's a part of the holistic picture of a player's performance. You can probably get a better view of a player's holistic performance through GAR though.
