I've targeted teams that may be sellers come the TDL, and players that have demonstrated character and playoff success. Three of my trade targets are playoff rentals, two carry an extra year of term.

I realize there will be various opinions regarding the trades. Edmonton has limited trade assets, and I have tried to be realistic. Some will tee off on what they may consider overpayments, undervaluation's, unrealistic assumptions, and perhaps pure cap dumps. That's fair, we are all entitled to our opinions.

For Oiler fans, I am most interested in your thoughts regarding my reworked roster. You'll see:

1. what I believe could be an extremely effective 3rd line;
2. a more experienced, bigger, tougher defense;
3. the addition of a third veteran goaltender;
4. scratches and taxi squad representing the black aces.

About the goaltending.... Given Smith's injury history, Skinner's relative lack of experience, and nagging questions regading Koskinen's consistency, I envision Tippett having four goaltenders available, and running with whomever is hot.
