Description
Hyman with the shoulder, could be two months at most.

Holland needs to acquire a goaltender before Tippett rushes Smith back to NHL action and puts the old man in a much more dire situation. I really suspect Buffalo just pulls Khudobin off of waivers; I think a phone call out east to offer this deal such that the Sabres get a goaltender plus assets would need to occur asap.

Probably ride this roster past the Christmas freeze but I'd be pulling the trigger on whatever deadline deals are planned far sooner than later.

Also fire Tippett.

Khudobin has among the worst stats among goalies this year and has another year left on his deal... steer clear.

More about getting out from Koskinen and Turris really but yeah I'd be absolutely gambling on a change of scenery doing him some good.

Koskinen and Turris are this year problems, Khudobin is potentially a multi-year problem. It's like when we traded Belanger for Korpikoski. Both bad contracts but Korpikoski had an extra year we ended up buying out.

I have an unwarranted suspicion regarding Smith's injury and I'm becoming increasingly convinced that it's something that's going to hamper the remainder of his career. The organization is being almost overly cautious and uncharacteristically silent about what's actually wrong with his ankle and to me at least, it speaks volumes.

If Holland makes a move for Khudobin then I fully believe it's because Smith is going to be out for a long time, possibly LTIR the rest of his career.

If Smith is going on LTIR permanently, I'm calling Chicago about MAF rather than taking a prayer on the waiver wire that has term attached. They were saying Smith possibly tomorrow but it's likely going to be pushed back to Thursday.
