Description
These trades are all made prior to the 2022 draft, and happen after Edmonton misses this year's playoffs, or exits early if they do make playoffs. Tippett's contract isn't renewed, and potential HC replacement includes Jay Woodcroft. Darryl Katz moves in a new direction, and a more analytical front office is assembled.

Alternative to the ANA trade is to remove Gibson (to be replaced by comparable value in roster player/prospect/picks), and sign Jack Campbell to a contract that TOR couldn't afford to match, like a $6x5. This would also be ANA's plan to replace the loss of Gibson were the trade to happen as written. Biggest issue would be Gibson's and Draisaitl's NTCs.

The Nichushkin contract might be high, but A) EDM needs to overpay players to sign here, and B) it would be very difficult for Colorado to match.

McDavid is unthinkable. It would be hard to stomach for Oiler fans, but a Draisaitl trade is probably inevitable at some point unless the prospect pipeline can pump out more affordable replacements for some of their wingers and defensemen. Which is pretty realistic. Yall have some fairly promising prospects.

i dont see why a DRI trade is inevitable at 8.5 mill he is probably one of the better value contracts for a star player.

if they were to trade him you would not be trading him to a team in your division either.

This is very interesting to me tbh especially with Dostal in the upcoming and having Eriksson-Ek and Alexander in the system too. McTavish seems to be a great prospect and could really be good for Anaheim but I wouldn’t be totally against moving him.

This is a very tricky one tbh. Good idea tho

He only has 3 more seasons after this one on that 8.5, at which point he will be looking for a pretty substantial raise. Not only that but he will be a UFA. So, they will probably want to try and get something substantial for him before he becomes a UFA and they either have to give him a HUGE contract or lose him for nothing.
