Wait, so a guy who is probably done in the NHL, a prospect who's got an okay chance at being a full-time player for a while, a 3rd liner, and some picks for a young D-Man playing really, really good and a top 6 forward with tons of potential? In my opinion Carolina would never, ever do that.
The Winnipeg trade i don't see either team doing it ... actually, i'd have to think about it. I think it's okay actually.
I don't like most of the Fleury trades i see as the fact that Pittsburgh would lose him in the expansion draft doesn't mean other teams would. In my opinion Pittsburgh says no to this deal as Niemi is an AHL level goalie in my opinion (or maybe an NHL backup), and a 4th isn't too much. At least it's not this year though, but i don't think this year is that bad, i just think that last year was really good. But still not the best draft this year.
Also, who does Dallas lose in the expansion draft?

For someone like Hanifan stars would have to use their first rounder this year to even get started. Myers would be more obtainable. Based on UFA's and goalies that will go unprotected in expansion draft, Fleury would be about the 7th option for me. I'm not sure if Fleury said he'd waive his NMC, but if not Penguins would gladly take a 4th rounder if it means they can protect Matt Murray. It's also better than buying Fleury out.
