Description
The only way this team is gonna win is if pageau gets going, and he gets some wingers that fit his style of play, enter beau and palms. Both are solid skaters who can be tenacious, play both ends of the ice, and can have significant offensive contributions on the scoresheet.

I have girouz on the top line and fiala on the 2nd for a lot of reasons.
1- no way trotz plays them together bc theyre both very gifted offensively.
2- trotz is gonna want a veteran with barzal and giroux fits the bill.
3- as great puck handlers as barzal and fiala are they are both prone to turnovers. Therefore i doubt barry would be interested in playing them together.
4- giroux is great at faceoffs and good in his own end which will hopefully help keep play at the other end of the ice.

The goalie could be kinkaid or anderson or elliot or greiss, or it could be someone younger whos done well in a small sample that might want to come for league minimum to NYI so they could get a big contract next year.

I think you're optimistic about the return for Varlamov. And I doubt his M NTC includes Edmonton.

Maybe but hes got a 2nd year, has lead his team to back to back ECFs, and if a team needs a goalie it could very well be paid. As for the NTC, liu has been very good throughout his career getting players to waive them. Not saying varly will just dont know if he wont, or that edmontons even on there.

The reason I doubt Edmonton is on the list is for the following reasons. Edmonton is non playoff team. Edmonton has a awful travel schedule compared to the cozy Metro division. It's easy to think that better goaltending would help the Oilers (it would) but there defensive play is poor. If Varly is traded maybe he might go to a better team that might be a goalie next season....like Colorado.
